Tomorrow evening we will celebrate 71 years of Independence. Today we remember the people who made it possible - 23,741 men and women who have fallen defending the land of Israel since 1860, the year when the first Jewish neighborhoods were built outside the secure walls of Jerusalem. 3,150 civilians have been killed in terrorist attacks since the formation of the State of Israel in 1948.
